Boost your practice with a free 6-week course in mindfulness

So after having meditated for some months, you might want to get additional information on how to make your meditation practicr more methodical and profound.

I stumbled across the homepage of the Insight Meditation Center where you can find a lot of information and instructions about meditation. Well, you can find a lot of information about meditation online, but what made the difference is that there is a free 6 week training course in mindfulness that you can either do totally on your own or you can also do it with a personal assistant that you can ask for support during your 6 weeks of the course.

How it works is that you sign up on that page and when the course starts, you will get every sunday a link to the 80 minute audio file that you can download as well as transcripts and additional handouts. If you have chosen that you want to be assisted, you will get a person assigned to you, that you can contact once a week during a predetermined time, if you have questions about the meditation practice.

The beginners course focuses on different parts of the body and mind and is easy to understand

The 6 lessons focus every week on a different aspect starting with the breath continuing with the body to emotions, thinking and mind and finally round up the course with the topic daily life. The lessons are really easy to understand and are usefull for bloody beginners and even more advanced meditators, since the teacher Gil Fronsdal highlights a lot of good hints to improve your meditation practice. The course has helped me to be able to focus on the differents parts of the body and mind, which I have not done before. I did not ask for assistance, because I didnt want to bother anyone and take their precious time away.

You don’t need to signup for the 6 week course – the files are available on the homepage of insight meditation center and on youtube

I highly recommend to check Gil Fronsdal out – he is a funny guy and has a lot of wisdom to offer for the knowledge hungry meditators around the world!

Audio files, transcripts, and handouts of the course.

Do you have any similar courses that you can recommend?
